Glossary
GEOPromptly key terms
Short definitions of the concepts used in the tool and in prompt generation for AI.
Auto fallback
Marker applied to a prompt when the LLM call failed technically (timeout, quota, format error) and GEOPromptly automatically switched to Template mode to still produce a usable phrasing. No credit is charged for these prompts.
Branded share
The proportion of prompts in a batch that explicitly mention your brand, as opposed to those that stay generic ("what's the best portable AC?" vs "is portable AC X any good?"). Expressed as a percentage of the batch.
Core vs Rotation
Two categories of elements in a prompt batch. Core (brand, fixed personas) stays constant across the batch to keep a comparable baseline. Rotation (topics, intents) varies prompt by prompt to cover a spectrum.
Credit
The billing unit debited for each prompt generated via an LLM. One prompt = one credit at generation time. Prompts marked "Very close" (near-duplicates) or "Auto fallback" (technical AI-call failure) do not consume credit on deletion.
GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)
The practice of optimising a brand's presence and framing in generative engine answers (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity). GEO complements SEO: SEO targets blue-link rankings, GEO targets inclusion in the synthesised answer.
Intent : Informational
Search-intent type where the user wants to understand, learn or get informed, with no immediate purchase goal. Often phrased as an open question.
Intent : Navigational
Search intent where the user wants to reach a specific brand, site or page they already know. The brand appears explicitly in the phrasing.
Intent : Transactional
Search intent with a clearly anticipated action or purchase. Often contains an action verb ("buy", "order", "download", "book") or a modifier ("price", "cheap", "promo code").
Intent: commercial investigation
Intent where the user compares offers, brands or models before deciding. Neither pure informational (close to purchase) nor pure transactional (not yet buying).
PAA (People Also Ask)
The block of related questions Google displays on the results page. These questions are drawn from real user behaviour and reveal the recurring sub-questions around a topic.
PASF (People Also Search For)
The block of related searches Google shows after a return-click from a result. Unlike PAA (questions), PASF lists adjacent queries users chain together, exposing their real journey.
Persona
A user archetype (age, usage context, tags) on whose behalf a prompt is phrased. It is not a real identity but a narrative frame that shapes tone, vocabulary and the decision criteria expected in the answer.
Pool of themes
The consolidated set of topics available for prompt generation, aggregated from your imports (sitemap, GSC, URLs, keywords) and your enrichments (PAA, PASF, semantic fingerprint). Each topic can be selected, deselected, or hidden if judged noisy.
Prompt
A natural-language instruction sent to a generative AI model to produce an answer. Unlike a query aimed at a search engine, a prompt frames the role, context and expected output. In GEOPromptly, a prompt combines a persona, an intent, a topic and optionally a brand.
Semantic fingerprint
An automated analysis of your page content that extracts salient expressions and recurring themes. It is not a plain keyword list: terms are weighted by frequency, context and co-occurrence to characterise what your pages actually talk about.
Very close (Jaccard similarity)
Automatic marker for a prompt deemed a near-duplicate of another already in the batch, based on Jaccard similarity computed on tokens (normalised words). Typical threshold: > 0.85.
